The Rogue Prince Of Persia Is Releasing Next Month

We were already blessed with a great Prince of Persia game earlier this year in the form of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Earning a Metacritic score of 86, with publications like WellPlayed dubbing it “an expertly executed series revival that displays the best of Ubisoft Montpellier’s pedigree while pushing the action-platformer to new heights.” With no intention of slowing down, it Ubisoft has partnered with Evil Empire to reveal The Rogue Prince of Persia, a roguelite spin on the popular Prince of Persia IP.

Evil Empire is best known as the supporting studio for Dead Cells. It is responsible for the game’s four paid expansions: The Bad Seed, Fatal Falls, The Queen and the Sea, and Return to Castlevania. The reveal trailer shows off the game’s killer artstyle and smooth gameplay, with the developer’s understanding of 2D platforming and combat on full display. Previews for this title have also gone live with this reveal, with James Wood at Press-Start Australia coming away from his brief time with the game very positively.

The Rogue Prince of Persia is set to release in Early Access via Steam on May 14.
