ConcernedApe Celebrates The 8th Anniversary Of Stardew Valley By Announcing The 1.6 Update Release Date

Stardew Valley has continually proven to be an incredible indie success story. ConcernedApe (aka Eric Barone), the solo developer behind the farm life sim, has always shown gratitude for the community and the support said community has always given them when it came to future updates and even Haunted Chocolatier, Barone’s new project.

Regardless, Barone has always toiled away at new updates for Stardew Valley, and the highly anticipated 1.6 update is proof of this. A month ago, Barone stated that the 1.6 update was larger in scope than initially anticipated but the patch was in its bug-fixing/polishing phase. Well, today marks the eighth anniversary of Stardew Valley and to celebrate, Barone announced the release date for the 1.6 update – March 19, 2024.

Barone’s work on the game is a continuous labour of love and they have a lot of love for the community, with the developer stating “As always, I’m eternally grateful to the players (you!) for making all of this possible.”

Stardew Valley is out on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, PC, macOS, and PS Vita (though this version’s last update was equivalent to PC version 1.2.33).
