It was recently revealed at a Nintendo Partner Direct that the 3DS-exclusive Monster Hunter JRPG, Monster Hunter Stories, would be making its way to modern platforms by way of a remaster. This is great news as the 3DS eShop was shut down last year so legally accessing the game became considerably more difficult unless you wanted to play it on your phone instead.
What is really nice as well is the fact that the main characters will now feature fully voice dialogue. The original release of Monster Hunter Stories sold approximately 309,00 units, with the sales of the sequel Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, reaching 1.7 million units sold.
The remaster of Monster Hunter Stories is set to release in winter 2024 (summer 2024 for the northern hemisphere) for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
