Warframe is gearing for its next major patch in the form of Update 36: Dante Unbound. The first major update of the year (excluding the Gauss Prime update on January 17), Dante Unbound brings in the update’s namesake, Dante, as the 56th non-Prime Warframe alongside his arsenal and a couple of new challenges. All the details can be found on the Warframe News Post.
“Defend the Leverian from the avaricious clutches of Parvos Granum and the Corpus! Drusus, curator and caretaker of the Leverian, requests your help to get out from under Parvos’s gilded thumb. It falls to you to track down his assistant and chief chronicler, the Warframe Dante. Master Dante’s Abilities as you take on new Missions like Murmur focused Disruption and greater challenges than ever before.” – Warframe News Post
Dante’s abilities are as follows:
- Passive: Chronicler’s Mark
- Noctua scans target, recording information for your Codex. Status Chance increases on fully scanned targets.
- Ability 1: Noctua
- Open Noctua, Dante’s Exalted Tome, and unleash a tale of woe upon his enemies
- Ability 2: Light Verse
- Dante’s vitalizing composition grants him and his allies Overguard and increases their Health
- Ability 3: Dark Verse
- Dante’s composition draws blood from nearby enemies, inflicting Slashing Damage upon them
- Ability 4: Final Verse
- Dante must compose two other Verses before his Final Verse. Two Light Verses invigorates allies with Triumph. Two Dark Verses attack enemies with Tragedy. A Light followed by a Dark Verse supports allies with Wordwarden. A Dark followed by a Light Verse summons Pageflight to swoop at enemies.
Like the launch of all other Warframes, Dante comes with an optional collection bundle. Titled the Dante Collection, this bundle features the following:
- Dante Warframe
- Ruvox Melee Weapon
- Dante Cantsit Helment
- Rencowl Syandana
- Oranist Armour
- Noctua’s Paragrimm Orbiter Decoration
Gifting a friend the collection will also reward you with the Noctua’s Paragrimm Orbiter Decoration. There will also be a customisation pack called the Dante Chronicles Pack that features an exclusive Gylph, Sigil, and Observant Vitreum Decoration.
The Dante Unbound update brings with it a few extra missions. Starting with Entrati Disruption, this variation on the Disruption game mode sees players picking up Dockets (Disruption keys), install them in Conduits and defend those Conduits from Necramech Demolishers. Where the difference lies is the fact that this version brings with it a new foe called The Gruzzling. Described as a greedy variety of Murmur, this foe aims to steal Dockets if players aren’t paying attention and keeping them in line. This version of Disruption requires the completion of Whispers in the Walls and The Deadlock Protocol.
The other new activity is Deep Archimedea. Available upon reaching Rank 5 with the Cavia Syndicate, Deep Archimedea is a chain of three missions. Differentiating itself from Sorties and another weekly activity that will remain nameless for spoilers sake (if you know, you know), the three missions in Deep Archimedea must be completed in sequence. Make sure that the loadout you start with is powerful and flexible enough to handle it. It also requires you to sacrifice two Netracell Serach Pulses to start each week, so you’ll only be able to do three Netracell runs each week if you do this mission type as well. Deep Archimedea can be replayed at no extra cost, but there is a limit of six high-quality rewards each week. To boost your drop chances, you can look at Loid’s suggested loadout and try to implement items in that loadout to your own loadout, or you can add modifiers to your missions. Doing these boosts your Research Level which, in turn, increases the quality and quantity of your rewards from Deep Arhcimedea.
There are other smaller changes and additions coming with Update 36: Dante Unbound, these include a rework for the woefully useless Inaros Warframe, new Warframe augment mods, new Tennogen skins, and a host of quality of life changes.
Update 36: Dante Unbound will be launch on all available platforms on March 27, 2024. Warframe itself is free-to-play and available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and PC, with an Android version coming in the near future.
