It’s real. Hollow Knight: Silksong is real. After all these years of hearing “it’s coming soon” or “it’s coming this year”, the wait is almost over. Silksong officially had its release date revealed overnight. Slated for a September 4, 2025 release date, the game is only two weeks away. This release date was announced with a reveal trailer that premiered on Team Cherry’s own YouTube channel.

The trailer shows a variety of the game’s environments and some of Hornet’s abilities. Personally, it looks like the wait has been worth it and Team Cherry has truly been cooking behind the scenes while we all commented “Silksong when?” in the chat of every Nintendo Direct stream. On top of all of this, Bloomberg writer Jason Schreier published an article where he spent time with Team Cherry co-founders Ari Gibson and William Pellen, asking them about why the game’s development took so long. Hollow Knight: Silksong was originally revealed on February 14, 2019, and the wait this entire time has been gruelling. The game will officially release on PlayStation 4/5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 1/2, PC via Steam, GOG, and Humble Store. The game will also be available as a part of Xbox Game Pass on Day One.
