Look, we all know that you are probably still playing Hades II’s Early Access, Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, or even gearing up to play Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II. May was a month with a surprising amount of stellar releases but don’t let that fool you into thinking that the industry is done throwing large titles our way. Whether it be an enhanced version of previously beloved titles or large expansions, June has much to offer.
The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road – June 3 (PC & Mac) / June 18 (PlayStation & Xbox)
The Elder Scrolls Online ushers in its eight major expansion in the form of Gold Road. This expansion will take players into the West Weald, a region of Cyrodil which has not been seen by players since The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion as well as debuting Ithelia, a Daedric Prince whose presence has never been seen before in the Elder Scrolls series as whole. On top of this is the new Scribing system which will allow an unprecedented level of flexibility and customisation in ESO. This expansion launches for PC and Mac on June 3, and for PlayStation and Xbox on June 18.
Destiny 2: The Final Shape – June 4
Destiny 2 finally closes its decade-long story with The Final Shape. This long-awaited expansion is poised at being Destiny 2‘s big shining moment, and will aim at rectifying all the mistakes of… So yeah this expansion should be fun. Here’s to hoping that Bungie is able to close the story in a cohesive, coherent manner and not the messy writing that most of Destiny 2’s campaigns have been subject to. This releases for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on June 4.
Assassin's Creed Mirage iOS – June 6
As a series’ first, Assassin’s Creed Mirage is making its way to iOS. Launching on June 6, this game will playable on the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Air, and iPad Pro with at least the M1 chip.
Kristala
Cats. RPG. Need I say more? Launching for PC in Early Access on June 6.
V Rising – June 11
V Rising has already enjoyed a successful v1.0 launch on PC and is prepping for a PS5 launch. This top-down survival game where you play as a vampire is sitting at a comfortable 83 on Metacritic and at Very Positive on Steam with an 87% approval rating (at the time of writing). Alongside this launch are updates to the PC version which will allow for proper controller support. The PS5 version will launch on June 11.
Kingdom Hearts (Series) – June 13
Kingdom Hearts as a series has previously been exclusive to the Epic Games Store for PC users. Understandably, not everyone was happy with this choice for a number of reason ranging from just not liking the launcher/platform itself, to disliking Epic Games and how it handles some of its customer-side interactions. Thankfully, the series is making its way to Steam with a number of improvements (these improvements are coming the the EGS version too). The series hits Steam on June 13.
Monster Hunter Stories 1 & 2: Wings of Ruin – June 14
Monster Hunter Stories is a previously 3DS-exclusive monster tamer RPG set in the Monster Hunter universe. It was adored enough by fans to warrant a sequel in the form of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin which released on the Nintendo Switch and PC. Capcom is now bringing both these games to more platforms, with the former being brought forward onto the PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and the latter being ported to the PS4. Both games’ ports are set to release on June 14.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance – June 14
The original release of Shin Megami Tensei V was received quite favourably. From its solid RPG design to its ridiculous story, the Nintendo Switch exclusive was a hit. Not content with leaving this game as is, and on a singular platform, ATLUS has put in the work to create an expanded/definitive edition of this game for multiple platforms in the form of Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance. Featuring new content and an altered story, this game launches for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC on June 14.
Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree – June 21
Stop kidding yourself, this is probably the biggest release of June. Elden Ring was immensely successful, both critically and commercially, and so it comes as no surprise that its Shadow of the Erdtree expansion is hugely anticipated. Much like the game its attached to, this is shaping up to be FromSoftware’s largest and most ambitious expansion to date. This launches for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC on June 21.
