Cats are pretty awesome, they’re quirky little friends that teeter somewhere between psychopathic and incredibly affectionate. If there is one thing that I am down for, it’s having the chance to play as a cat in a game (like in Stray). One thing I never quite counted on was the ability to play as an anthropomorphised cat, yet here we are with Kristala as its early access launch on PC has just been announced..
Kristala is described as a “Dark Fantasy ARPG” by indie studio, Astral Clocktower Studios [ACS], and sees you play as a bipedal cat who can don armour and partake in swordplay to take down foes and master the magics of six sacred crystals in the hopes of eventually becoming a protector of their species – a Raksaka Warrior.
The cat’s out of the bag, Travelers!

Kristala previously had a demo available, with various people playing it and giving feedback like popular Soulsborne YouTuber, IronPinapple. Since then, ACS has been hard at work adding more features and adjusting others to a point where it would feel confident in the playable product. The game will now be launching in Early Access for PC via Steam this May.
For now, Kristala will only be available on PC during its early access period but ACS has already committed to bringing it to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch with the full release of the game.
