Helldivers 2 has been out for less than two weeks and it has gone on to set the internet aflame with freedom, liberty, and managed democracy. No one could have seen the immense success of Arrowhead Game Studios’, with it reaching a new concurrent users all-time peak of over 407,000 players on Steam alone. At the same time, the game seems to be buckling under the weight of its own success, with players on PC and PlayStation 5 experiencing a myriad of server-related issues.
Regardless of these issues, people are having an absolute blast with the game, and it is currently sitting on a Metacritic score of 83, though it is sitting on a Steam approval rating of 68% amidst the aforementioned server troubles and invasive anti-cheat.
Arrowhead is continually working towards making Helldivers 2 a smoother experience, with various bug fixes in the works and the studio working with the game’s network provider to increase the rate limits and server capacity. Here’s to hoping that the team is able to address all the issues so everyone can bask in the glory of managed democracy.
