Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? With a brand new open beta for Xbox Series X|S users which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award-winning Heavensward and Stormblood expansions up to level 70 for free with no restrictions on playtime. That’s right, Square Enix’s incredibly popular MMO has begun its move to the Xbox Series X|S.
The open beta is functionally identical to the game’s free trial, which includes hundreds of hours of content and also allows players to experience some of the game’s strongest points like its additional jobs (read: classes), the incredibly flexible glamour system (transmog), and raids.
Final Fantasy XIV is getting ready for its Dawntrail expansion, which marks the beginning of a new story arc since 2021’s Endwalker closed out the Light vs. Dark saga that started all the way back in 2014 with A Realm Reborn. The game is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC, with an Xbox Series X|S release to come soon (this open beta excepted).
